Jason Perillo of CCS Construction Staffing, ASA North Carolina council chairman, will open with a discussion on how to bring ASA closer to home, highlighting resources and council activity. Next, leadership expert and staffing industry veteran Linda Sasser of Impact Workforce Technology will share why difficult conversations are essential to all employees’ growth, how to have difficult conversations with care, and how to follow up after the conversation.
While you enjoy lunch, ASA chairman Susie Dietrich of TOPS Staffing LLC will provide up-to-the-minute information about trends, challenges, and opportunities in the staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry. Jill M. White of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice will present an employment law update, addressing tailored topics for North Carolina staffing and recruiting firms. The afternoon will round out with Tom Erb of Tallann Resources LLC, who will discuss key mistakes that most sales reps are making and share a systematic new sales process that is proven to get new business.
Kick off day two with Bob Thompson, of World Wide Specialty Programs Inc., and learn to manage workers’ compensation costs and get your business ready for a carrier to write. Then, technology experts on a panel facilitated by Sara Moss of eRecruit will discuss improving technology project outcomes and reducing project risk.
Then, have lunch while Erb shares a repeatable recruitment process that is proven to increase the quality of internal hires. After that, dive into recruitment strategies with Brian Remillard from CareerBuilder. Then learn about temporary worker safety from Lafayette Atkinson of the North Carolina Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Division and Aerotek’s Tim Clark. In the final session, Patrick Reynolds of Bullhorn will look at strategies for engaging Millennials in the workforce.
Close out the two-day event in the sun and sand with a beach volleyball and cornhole tournament followed by a poolside closing reception.
This event qualifies for 11.5 continuing education hours (2.0 of which are legal) toward maintaining your ASA credential.
