ASA Staffing Index Monthly Report, June 2015

Staffing employment for the week of June 8–14 was 95.66, according to the ASA Staffing Index. Temporary and contract staffing employment decreased 0.45% from the prior week, and was 2.11% lower than the same week last year. The week containing the 12th also will be used in the June monthly employment situation report that will be issued by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on July 2.

The ASA Staffing Index is reported nine days after each workweek, making it a near real-time measure of staffing employment trends. ASA Staffing Starts are the number of temporary and contract employees placed in new assignments during the reporting week. ASA research shows that staffing employment has historically been a coincident economic indicator.
