Share

The American Staffing Association introduced a new certification to its collection of programs currently offered—the ASA Certified Health Care Staffing ProfessionalSM credential. The CHPSM program is specifically for health care staffing professionals and will certify their expertise in working with both employees and clients within the bounds of federal laws and regulations. The credential program focuses on health care staffing-specific subjects such as malpractice issues, health care credential requirements, privacy issues, antikickbacks, pre-employment, the Affordable Care Act, family and medical leave, and more.

The CHP credential was developed by a team of attorneys, leading staffing firms serving the health care sector, and professional development specialists.

“The CHP is the new gold standard for health care staffing and recruiting professionals,” said Richard Wahlquist, president and chief executive officer of the American Staffing Association. “This new credential is a differentiator for professionals and firms in the increasingly competitive staffing industry, and is essential for helping health care professionals work with both employees and clients within the bounds of federal laws and regulations.”

The CHP program has a timed, two-hour online exam consisting of 120 true-or-false and multiple-choice questions. Other certifications in the ASA portfolio include Certified Staffing Professional®, Technical Services CertifiedSM, and Certified Search Consultant®.
