ASA Staffing Index Monthly Report, November 2015
Staffing employment for the week of Nov. 9–15 was 101.11, according to the ASA Staffing Index—holding above 100 for the eighth consecutive week. Temporary and contract staffing employment increased 0.31% from the prior week. The week of Nov. 9–15 contained the Veterans Day holiday. Staffing employment was 4.47% lower than the same week last year, which also included Veterans Day. Over the past 30 days, staffing employment increased 0.57%. This week, containing the 12th, will be used in the November monthly employment situation report that will be issued by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Dec. 4.
The ASA Staffing Index is reported nine days after each workweek, making it a near real-time measure of staffing employment trends. ASA research shows that staffing employment is a coincident economic indicator.
