Renewing the SSE Program Mark

Share

Upon payment of the renewal application fee, (in the case of firms with one or multiple offices) NSC will assess the staffing firm’s headquarters plus branch offices selected randomly according to a sliding scale, not to exceed six offices. Branch offices may be different from those evaluated for the initial assessment.

Renewal Application Fees

SSE assessment costs are dependent on company structures, size, and file management practices. Assessment fees for ASA members range from $3,300 to $18,000 (see chart):

Company is ASA and NSC Member Company is ASA Member Only Company is not an ASA Member
$695 $795 $1,590

Renewal assessment fees will be determined based on corporate size and structure and range from $2,800 to $13,300.

Renewal Requirements and Process

To continue using the Mark, staffing firms must renew their commitment to, and demonstration of, safety standards every two years on either Jan. 1 or July 1. It is expected that staffing firms earning use of the Mark will show improvement in subsequent assessments, even when different branch offices are selected for the renewal assessment.

Firms that first earn the Mark with a score greater than 2.3 but less than 2.7 will be expected to show improvement above their previous score (any improvement) to renew use of the Mark. Firms that earn the Mark with a score of greater than 2.7 will need to maintain a score in the 2.7-3.0 range to renew use of the Mark.

If a firm does not meet the renewal guidelines, reassessment(s) can be performed (renewal assessment fees will apply) within a period of three months, during which time they will continue to have rights to use the Mark. With renewals involving multiple branch offices, the staffing firm will have the option of “throwing out” the lowest-scoring branch office’s score and replacing it with the score of a not-previously-assessed branch office of the NSC consultant’s choosing. If a second reassessment is not preformed within the three-month time frame, or, if the scores still are not found to show improvement, the staffing firm will need to wait one year before applying for renewal again.

Renewal Deadlines

Renewal deadlines are based on when the program Mark is first earned. It’s recommended a firm begin the renewal process at least six months from the date in the right-hand column to allow time for on-site visits.
