How to Earn THE CSP CREDENTIAL

• What are the steps to earn and maintain an ASA credential?

  1. Purchase the CSP study materials online from the ASA Store.
  2. Study at your own pace and take the online practice exam as many times as you need until you feel comfortable with the information.
  3. Take the online exam when you're ready—within one year from the date of purchasing the certification package.
  4. Before your certification expires in three years, earn 30 continuing education hours and submit your renewal application and fee.

• How much does an ASA certification program cost?

  Visit the ASA Online Store to view the cost of each program.
  

• We want multiple people from our company to get certified. Do you have bulk purchase options?

  ASA does offer bulk discounts on orders of 10 or more. Please send an email to a***************@americanstaffing.net and a member of the ASA education team will be in touch to discuss these options.
  

• If I don't pass the CSP exam, how many times can I retake the exam, and is there a cost to do so?

  You can retake the exam as many times as necessary, but yes, there is a cost to do so. View the costs and re-purchase the exam at the ASA Store.
  

Study Tips and Exam Instructions

• How many times can I take the online practice exam?

  You can take the online practice exam as many times as you would like until you take your actual exam, up to one year from the date of purchasing your certification exam package. If you fail the practice exam, it will reset itself automatically. If you pass the practice exam but still want to take it again, email a***************@americanstaffing.net, to request a reset of the exam.
  

• I'm ready to take the actual exam to become certified. Where do I go?

  When you ordered your study materials (or purchased access to the online exam only), you received an exam instruction sheet, which includes an exam ID, password, and website address (URL) to access your exam. If you have misplaced the exam instruction sheet, email a***************@americanstaffing.net.
  

Already Certified? Earning and Managing Continuing Education Hours

• How are continuing education hours calculated?

  ASA awards CE hours based on the 60-minute hour. CE hours are based on the actual instructional time of a program. When filling out your CE submission, please enter the date and time you completed the activity.

  How to calculate your CE hourly credit for an activity:

  • 15 minutes = 0.25 CE
  • 30 minutes = 0.50 CE
  • 45 minutes = 0.75 CE
  • 60 minutes = 1.00 CE

• How do I submit my earned CE hours to ASA?

  1. Use the online CE submission form to submit earned hours to ASA.
  2. It may take up to three business days for submitted and approved CE hours to appear in your CE summary.

  Registered attendees who are ASA-certified and view the entire webinar will automatically see the earned CE hour added to their online CE status within three business days. You no longer need to submit earned hours from attending live ASA webinars on the CE submission form. You must still submit your earned CE hours from any ASA On-Demand recordings and previous live webinars attended.
  

• How do I view my CE hours that are on file with ASA?

  View your CE summary.
  

• There are CE hours missing from my CE summary. How do I have them added?

  Use the CE submission form to submit missing hours to ASA.
  

Renewing Your Credential

• My credential renewal deadline is approaching and I have my 30 required CE hours. What do I need to do to complete my renewal?

  1. Check your CE summary to make sure ASA has your 30 CE hours on file.
  2. Submit your renewal fee online.
  3. Once processed, ASA will send you an email that will include your next renewal deadline.

• I won't be able to earn the 30 CE hours by my renewal deadline. What can I do?

  You will need to retake the CSP exam to maintain your credential.
  

• I recently renewed my ASA credential, will I receive another certificate?

  No, you will not receive another certificate. The certificate that you were issued upon passing the exam does not have an expiration date on it.
