How to Earn THE CSP CREDENTIAL

- Purchase the CSP study materials online from the ASA Store.
- Study the material at your own pace. All exam takers have unlimited attempts to take the CSP Practice Exam.
- Take the online CSP final exam when you're ready. No advanced scheduling is required. Exam takers must pass the CSP final exam with a 75% or higher by the one-year deadline.
- All CSP-credential holders have a three-year renewal period to complete two requirements: Earn 30 continuing education hours, then submit the CSP Renewal Fee.

You may retake the CSP Final Exam as many times as necessary. To retake the CSP Final Exam, you will need to purchase the CSP Final Retake Exam which is available through the ASA online store. View the costs and re-purchase the exam at the ASA Store.

Yes. An exam extension offers THREE months added to the current deadline and must be purchased before your exam deadline expires. There is no limit to the amount of extensions that can be purchased.

All CSP exam takers have unlimited attempts to take the online CSP practice exam within the one-year deadline as listed on the exam instructions. If you fail the practice exam, it will reset itself automatically. If you pass the practice exam but still want to take it again, email c************@americanstaffing.net, to request your CSP practice exam be reset by the ASA Certification Team.

ASA awards CE hours based on the 60-minute hour. CE hours are based on the actual instructional time of a program. When filling out your CE submission, please enter the date and time you completed the activity.
How to calculate your CE hourly credit for an activity:
- 15 minutes = 0.25 CE
- 30 minutes = 0.50 CE
- 45 minutes = 0.75 CE
- 60 minutes = 1.00 CE

- Use the online CE submission form to submit earned hours to ASA.
- View the CE submission Video Tutorial before you complete your first submission.
- All pending CE submissions will appear in your CE status within 10-15 minutes. CE submissions may take up to three business days to be approved by the ASA Certification Team.
CSP-certified attendees of live ASA webinars, in-person ASA events, and virtual ASA events will automatically earn CE hours and do not need to submit using the online CE submission form. However, for any other activity (including watching an ASA OnDemand webinar recording,) CSP-credential holders must submit all activities using the online CE submission form.

Sign into your ASA account and select “More -> CE Credits” at the top of the screen. Select “View Submitted CE Hours” from the options.

Renewing Your Credential

- Check your CE summary to make sure ASA has your 30 CE hours on file.
- Submit your CSP renewal fee online.
- Once processed, ASA will send you a confirmation email. You will automatically be rolled into your new, three-year renewal period.
- NOTE: If you paid your renewal fee before your renewal deadline, you must wait until the day after your renewal deadline to view your new deadline.

- If you miss your CSP renewal deadline, you will be given a 60-day grace period to continue submitting the required 30.00 CE hours and/or CSP Renewal Fee.
- If your 60-day grace period has expired, you will need to purchase the CSP Re-Instatement Fee to have your CSP credential re-instated, to continue submitting the required CE hours and CSP renewal fee.
- If your CSP credential has expired by more than one year, you will need to retake the CSP exam to earn the CSP credential.
Contact the ASA Certification team by email c************@americanstaffing.net, for additional assistance if you need more than 60 days to complete the CSP renewal requirements to prevent your CSP expiring and additional fees.

Effective May 2025, ASA transitioned from printed CSP certificates to digital certificates. Upon successful renewal of your CSP credential, you will receive a link to validate your digital CSP Renewal certificate.
