ASA Staffing Index Monthly Report, January 2017
Staffing employment for the week of Jan. 9–15 rose to 92.83, according to the ASA Staffing Index—increasing for the second consecutive week. Temporary and contract staffing employment was 2.40% higher than the prior week, which included the New Year’s Day holiday, and was 1.35% higher than the same week last year.
This week, containing the 12th, will be used in the January monthly employment situation report that will be issued by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Feb. 3.
The four-week moving average for the ASA Staffing Index edged down to 90.38, and was 2.16% higher than the comparable period of last year.
