Fed: Continued Modest to Moderate Economic Growth; Strong Staffing Demand


Reports from most of the 12 Federal Reserve districts indicated that the economy expanded at a modest to moderate pace from early April through late May, according to the Federal Reserve Board’s latest report on regional economies (known as the “beige book”). Labor markets continued to tighten, with most districts citing shortages across a range of occupations. Despite supply constraints, most districts reported a modest to moderate pace of employment growth and strong demand for staffing services.
