ASA Staffing Index Monthly Report, August 2017
Staffing employment for the week of Aug. 7–13 increased to 96.74, reaching the highest value so far this year, according to the ASA Staffing Index. Temporary and contract staffing employment was 0.29% higher than the prior week, growing for the fifth consecutive week. Staffing employment was 1.43% higher than the same week last year.
This week, containing the 12th, will be used in the August monthly employment situation report that will be issued by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Sept. 1.
The ASA Staffing Index four-week moving average increased to 96.30, surpassing a value of 96 for the first time this year. Year-to-year, the four-week average grew 1.38%.
