The American Staffing Association has announced that AMN Healthcare’s Kerry Sirkka of San Diego, CA, has been named the 2021 ASA Volunteer of the Year. Sirkka was honored during Staffing World®, the association’s annual convention and expo, held this year in Denver.
Sirkka is in her sixth year of volunteering for ASA. She currently serves as chair of the Women in Leadership council and is a member of the health care section council, which she has formerly chaired. A 19-year veteran of the health care staffing industry, Sirkka currently serves as senior vice president and general manager of local and international solutions for AMN Healthcare.
“Kerry is a gifted leader whose enthusiasm for the staffing industry is an inspiration to her fellow volunteers,” said Richard Wahlquist, ASA president and chief executive officer. “She is always ready to lend a helping hand and has earned the respect of her fellow volunteers through her hard work and dedication. Kerry stands as a shining example of what it means to be an ASA volunteer, and on behalf of the ASA board of directors, membership, and staff, I thank her for her continued efforts to grow the staffing industry.”
Launched in 2016, the ASA Volunteer of the Year award recognizes an individual who is an outstanding contributor on an ASA committee, section council, state network, taskforce, or working group. The recipient is selected through nominations from volunteer peers.
