Avoiding Document Discrimination: I-9 and E-Verify Process
Overview
Highlights
Staffing professionals frequently complete the Form I-9 and E-Verify processes as part of their normal duties, but they may not have a proper understanding of the federal rules and laws that govern the processes. In recent years, staffing companies have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in civil penalties for violating these laws, including for engaging in discrimination.
This session will help staffing professionals understand how they can avoid discrimination in hiring and firing, and how to comply with Form I-9 and E-Verify rules. The session will also describe free and readily available government resources for staffing professionals who have questions.
In this webinar, attendees will learn about the following:
- Discrimination based on citizenship status and national origin
- Proper completion of Form I-9
- How to properly handle E-Verify Tentative Non-Confirmations (TNCs)
- Free resources for staffing professionals who have questions or need assistance
