As president and CEO, Richard is the American Staffing Association’s primary spokesman and is responsible for the overall direction and performance of ASA. Before joining the association as vice president, administration and government affairs, Richard led and coordinated government affairs activities on behalf of the staffing industry in all 50 states; Washington, DC; Puerto Rico; and Canada.

 

Stephen C. DwyerStephen C. Dwyer, Esq.

Senior vice president, chief legal and operating officer, American Staffing Association

Stephen Dwyer is a leading authority on the legal and public policy aspects of staffing. He engages in and coordinates the association’s legal and public affairs activities and advises the staffing industry on labor and employment law and policy issues. Stephen is a member of the New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Virginia and District of Columbia bar associations.
 
 

Kelly VerbergKelly Verberg

Senior vice president and chief membership officer, ASA

Kelly Verberg plays a critical role in identifying and advancing strategic initiatives to deepen member engagement and drive the staffing industry’s and member companies’ growth. Verberg joined ASA in 1992 and has served as legislative assistant, chapter relations liaison, membership marketing representative and director of membership. Prior to joining the association, the Pittsburgh native and Penn State graduate was a senior customer service representative with H.J. Heinz Corp.

 

Toby MalaraToby Malara, Esq.

Vice president of government relations, ASA

Toby Malara advises on all staffing-related legislation and regulation, including the Affordable Care Act, immigration/I-9, paid sick leave, sales tax and per diem issues. He also directs the association’s political activities through its political action committee, StaffingPAC.
 
 
 

Megan P. SweeneyMegan P. Sweeney

Director, Public Relations, ASA

Megan Sweeney oversees public relations for the association. Prior to joining ASA, she worked as communications director for the U.S. Department of Transportation, a State Political Party in PA and served as Press Secretary for Congress. She has a strong background in media strategies, communications and politics. Sweeney was recognized by BillyPenn.com as the “Who’s Next in Politics,” list of key individuals to watch.
 
 

Scott VanderbiltScott Vanderbilt

Senior director, research, American Staffing Association

Scott Vanderbilt, senior director of research, American Staffing Association, leads a team of researchers collecting and analyzing data from government sources and internal research efforts. He has a background in and conducts studies in quantitative and qualitative research methods as well as statistical analysis.
