Scholarship winners receive free registration for THRIVE Live and for Staffing World, which includes hotel accommodations for the duration of both events, $400 toward the cost of airfare, and money for incidentals. This year, THRIVE Live takes place Oct. 5–6 and Staffing World takes place Oct. 6–8, both in Orlando, FL. Scholarship winners are recognized on stage during the opening keynotes at both THRIVE Live and Staffing World.
In addition, scholarship winners join a network of prior scholarship winners and a community of supporters within the ASA women in leadership interest group council and benefit from yearlong visibility as scholarship winners on the ASA website and in social media promotions.

Research shows that women are more likely to downplay their achievements and are less likely to be recognized for their contributions. This scholarship is an effort to acknowledge the talented rising stars in the staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry. ASA wants to empower emerging women leaders to share their successes and allow the community to honor them as scholarship winners.
Previous scholarship winners have shared that being recognized as a scholarship winner helped with their professional journey, and many reported being promoted after being recognized as a scholarship winner.

You might opt to ask your chief executive officer, branch manager, or supervisor to write a letter of recommendation for you. Make sure that the individual writing the letter can speak to your goals and successes with specific examples. Your letter should highlight your career potential and growth.
When you make the request for the letter of recommendation, make sure to share details about the value you will receive—from the scholarship program and from attending THRIVE Live and Staffing World—with your letter of recommendation author.
In determining who to ask for a letter of recommendation, ask yourself
-
- Who is my best advocate?
- Who have I collaborated with that can speak to my leadership potential?
-
-
Make sure your letter of recommendation is formatted professionally, on letterhead if available, and includes the signature and contact information of the person who wrote the letter.

Companies with a scholarship winner receive public relations support from ASA staff and increased visibility for their company on social media. ASA provides press release templates, generates social media graphics, and creates a video highlighting winners that is shared on the ASA website and on social media channels. In addition, ASA features scholarship winners for a full year—using their stories and experiences to promote the program and encourage applications for the next year, and sharing their testimonials during Women’s History Month and to support fundraising for the ASA Foundation.
