The American Staffing Association proudly announces that its women in leadership initiative has been honored with a prestigious Gold Circle Award from the American Society of Association Executives.

The purpose of the ASA women in leadership initiative is to bring visibility to the value of women leaders in the global staffing industry and provide education and support tools to those companies committed to expanding and developing opportunities for female leaders as well as leaders from diverse backgrounds.

Since its inception in 2016, the women in leadership initiative has

  • Hosted multiple Thrive Virtual and Thrive Live events that include keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities for hundreds of attendees
  • Sponsored virtual programs and networking calls throughout the year for women in staffing
  • Created and promoted the women in leadership scholarship program to provide emerging leaders in staffing with the opportunity to attend both Staffing World®, the ASA annual convention and expo, and Thrive Live at no cost

Entries for the Gold Circle Awards competition are judged consistently in each category based on criteria established by the ASAE Gold Circle Award Committee for excellence in association marketing, membership, and communications programs.

“The ASA women in leadership initiative exemplifies the enthusiasm and dedication our members have when it comes to supporting the advancement of people and their careers,” said Richard Wahlquist, president and chief executive officer at ASA. “Together, our members and staff have created an active community that’s focused on supporting and increasing the number of women leaders in the staffing, recruiting, and talent solutions industry. In just a few short years, the women in leadership initiative has become a critical piece not only of ASA but also of the goal of supporting emerging women leaders across the entire industry.

“We are honored to receive such a prestigious honor as ASAE’s Gold Circle Award,” said Maggie Williams, vice president of operations at Arevo Group and chair of the ASA women in leadership council. “The ASA team have fostered a welcoming and inclusive community that’s allowed women staffing leaders to challenge themselves and grow their careers with the support of their colleagues.”

Applications for the scholarship program are now open, and the deadline to apply is Monday, May 22.

“I am thrilled to extend my congratulations to the winners of the 2023 ASAE Gold Circle Awards,” said Diana Dabdub, CAE, director of admissions and recruitment affairs at the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges and chair of the ASAE Gold Circle Awards Committee.

“The Gold Circle Awards recognize and highlight the significant role that marketing, membership, and communications association professionals play in promoting and supporting the growth of associations and their members. This year, the Gold Circle Awards categories have been updated to encourage and promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in campaign development. The winning campaigns showcase innovation; collaboration; creativity; and thoughtful incorporation of the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility perspective in their design and implementation.”
