World Employment Confederation

World Employment Confederation promotes common interests of the staffing industry on an international level.

  • “Adapting to Change”
    In 2011, the American Staffing Association, in conjunction with the World Employment Confederation (formerly Ciett), released a new global report that quantifies how staffing firms provide a bridge to social and economic progress around the world. The report, “Adapting to Change,” draws from strategic research developed by World Employment Confederation with the Boston Consulting Group. It shows that staffing firms better enable governments, businesses, and workers to adapt to change in today’s rapidly evolving global economy. The BCG research found that staffing firms improve the efficiency of labor markets, create jobs, increase work force participation, and deliver valuable employment.

Human Resource Standards

The Society for Human Resource Management and the American National Standards Institute have been working together to establish a series of measurement standards for the HR profession.

  • A Cost-Per-Hire standard was approved in 2012. ASA served on the work group that developed the standards.

The Conference Board

The Conference Board is a global, independent membership organization. It conducts research, convenes conferences, makes forecasts, assesses trends, publishes information and analysis, and brings executives together to learn from one another.


Decision Sciences Institute

The Decision Sciences Institute is a multidisciplinary international association dedicated to advancing knowledge and improving instruction in all business and related disciplines. The Institute facilitates the development and dissemination of knowledge in the diverse disciplines of the decision sciences through publication, conferences, and other services.


Employment Policies Institute

The Employment Policies Institute is a nonprofit research organization dedicated to studying public policy issues surrounding employment growth. In particular, EPI focuses on issues that affect entry-level employment.


Federal Reserve Bank of New York

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is one of 12 regional Reserve Banks which, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System.


National Bureau of Economic Research

NBER is a nonprofit economic research organization. Bureau associates concentrate on four types of empirical research: developing new statistical measurements, estimating quantitative models of economic behavior, assessing the effects of public policies on the U.S. economy, and projecting the effects of alternative policy proposals.


W.E. Upjohn Institute

The W.E. Upjohn Institute is an independent, nonprofit research organization devoted to finding, evaluating, and promoting solutions to employment-related problems.
