Share

The American Staffing Association yesterday announced that Ken Taunton, CSC, president and chief executive officer of The Royster Group Inc.—a certified minority-owned business enterprise in Atlanta providing executive search and professional staffing services in the private and public sectors and health care industry—is the 2019 ASA Volunteer of the Year. Taunton was honored during the opening Super Session at Staffing World® 2019, the association’s annual convention and expo, in Las Vegas.

The ASA Volunteer of the Year program, launched in 2016, recognizes an individual who is an outstanding contributor on an ASA committee, section council, state network, task force, or working group. Honorees are selected based on nominations submitted by peers from across the U.S.—all ASA volunteers.

Taunton has served as chairman of the ASA inclusion, diversity, equity, and advocacy (IDEA) interest group for the past two years. And in addition to his leadership with ASA, Taunton also serves on the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council board of directors and works with youth literacy and workforce development programs in Atlanta. He is a graduate of the Georgia Mentor Protégé Connection Program and has been recognized by the National Minority Supplier Development Council as Supplier of the Year.

“As a relatively new volunteer, Ken Taunton has really distinguished himself as a thought leader and mentor on the critically important issue of promoting diversity and inclusion at all levels within ASA and across the staffing industry,” said Richard Wahlquist, ASA president and chief executive officer. “On behalf of the ASA board of directors, membership, and staff, I thank Ken for his dedicated service to ASA and look forward to his continued leadership.”
