Eric GreggCarole Smith

Carole Smith, director of marketing; co-founder of DEIB council, Aquent

Smith is a tech-savvy business leader with experience in marketing, sales, and finance at national nonprofits and leading global brands. She has been working to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in the workplace for more than 15 years. As the co-founder and now an executive adviser to Aquent’s DEIB council, she was instrumental in launching DEI-related programs and content that have significantly transformed company culture and contributed to the creation of a diversity recruiting solution for clients.

Smith previously was an adjunct professor at Loyola Marymount University and was recognized by Untapped as one of the Top DEIB Leaders of 2022. She currently serves on the strategic council for 50/50 Women on Boards, and is a member of the ASA inclusion, diversity, and equity advocacy (IDEA) group. She previously was a member of the ASA women in leadership interest group, UCLA’s academic advancement program, Green Dot Public Schools, and Friends of the LAX Dunes. She has an undergraduate degree from Hood College, a master of business administration degree from UCLA Anderson School of Management, certificates in DEI and digital marketing from Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, and holds a Project Management Professional certification.
