Highlights
Immigration enforcement is making headlines daily. The administration is rolling back programs that previously provided work authorization to hundreds of thousands of employees, leading to widespread uncertainty and heightened enforcement efforts. Concerns about workplace raids, Form I-9 investigations, and the detention of individuals working unlawfully are escalating. At the same time, end clients are getting involved in the E-Verify and Form I-9 process for staffing firm workers.
As enforcement intensifies, staffing companies must have a comprehensive plan to ensure compliance and preparedness, including identifying pain points and taking proactive steps to protect their business. In this encore presentation of a session from the 2025 ASA Staffing Law & Compliance Conference, immigration law experts Helen L. Konrad of McCandlish Holton PC and Dawn M. Lurie of Seyfarth Shaw LLP will discuss these topics and provide updates.
During this webinar, attendees will learn
- How recent policy changes are affecting work authorization and employment eligibility for staffing firm workers.
- How risks of workplace raids, Form I-9 audits, and the detention of unauthorized workers have increased
- What role end clients play in E-Verify and Form I-9 processes, especially as they pertain to staffing agencies
- How to assess compliance vulnerabilities within an organization and implement measures to address them before enforcement actions occur
- Best practices to safeguard companies through training, documentation, and a coordinated response plan
