Refine Your Hiring and Training Through Government Partnerships

Overview

Get practical guidance on how to build relationships with state and local government agencies that can provide free, recurring assistance with recruiting and screening candidates. These partnerships may also help your firm offset the cost of training workers thanks to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, which went into effect July 1, and to state-based sources of assistance.

The federally financed workforce system has 600 local workforce investment boards that work with two million people each year who are unemployed or seeking work, have been laid off by their employer, or are otherwise having challenges in the labor market. These workforce boards will help identify, recruit, and screen candidates at no cost to your firm so you can reach an expanded pool of potential candidates. Some member companies have had success working with government agencies to expand their recruiting reach and screen potential hires.
