After a long delay, the first batch of employer exchange notices under the Affordable Care Act is being sent to employers by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The notices advise employers when an employee has been certified as eligible to receive a premium tax credit (“subsidy”) and has enrolled in Marketplace (i.e., exchange) coverage—and that this might result in an employer tax assessment. Early reports from ASA member firms indicate that the number of notices received thus far is very low as a percentage of total staffing employment. More ›
