Complying With OSHA’s New ETS and Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate
Overview
Highlights
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has published its long-anticipated Emergency Temporary Standard mandating that all employers with more than 100 employees ensure their workers are either fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or produce weekly negative Covid tests. The ETS is likely to cover 84 million workers, including staffing firm employees. On Saturday, Nov. 6, a federal appeals court issued an order blocking the ETS from taking effect on a nationwide basis.
In addition, an interim final rule from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will require full vaccination of many employees at hospitals and other health care facilities participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs. During this webinar, legal experts from Seyfarth Shaw LLP will discuss the legal challenges against the ETS, as well as best practices for how staffing firms can comply with the provisions of the ETS, in the event that the courts uphold OSHA’s authority.
During this webinar, attendees will learn
- The timetable for court decisions regarding the ETS and staffing firms’ best course of action in the meantime
- Which employers are covered by the ETS, as well as what they are required to do and when
- Best practices for compliance with the ETS, including the Covid-19 vaccine mandate and testing options
- Recommendations for how staffing companies can develop, implement, and enforce a mandatory Covid-19 vaccination policy
