Full Day of Technology-Related Learning Opportunities to Address Staffing Industry Top Challenges

Staffing World, the American Staffing Association’s annual convention and expo—Oct. 15–17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas this year, will for the first time feature “Tech Wednesday,” an entire day dedicated to technology solutions for staffing agencies.

Tech Wednesday provides a platform for Staffing World attendees to engage with peers and learn from industry experts and suppliers about best practices for choosing and implementing technology solutions in their companies.

“ASA members rate technology solution selection and adoption as a top ‘up-at-night’ issue,” said Steve Berchem, CSP, ASA chief operating officer. “Tech Wednesday at Staffing World 2019 provides attendees with the unique opportunity to discover, learn about, and discuss a wide array of staffing industry-specific tools and technologies to boost their company’s efficiency and productivity.”

Among this year’s reimagined Staffing World offerings, Tech Wednesday offers an entire learning track focused on staffing technology—including dozens of Tech Talks (quick, “TED Talk”-style presentations covering the most pressing technology-related issues facing the staffing industry today, including artificial intelligence, mobile apps, e-learning, scheduling automation, social media, and more). These are part of the Staffing World Tech Park, back for its third year by popular demand.

“Technology is fundamentally transforming the staffing industry, and to remain competitive staffing agencies must stay abreast of the latest advancements,” said Michael Whitmer, CSP, Recruit Global Staffing global chief information officer, and chairman of the ASA staffing technology taskforce. “Too often, companies get caught up in the sales and marketing hype of technology, but don’t really understand how technology will provide value to their business. Tech Wednesday at Staffing World will help attendees navigate the complex staffing-specific technology ecosystem to make smarter and more educated investment decisions.”

Although most of the sessions at Staffing World on Wednesday, Oct. 16, will focus on technology, additional learning opportunities on other topics—such as digital marketing, leadership, and employment law—will be offered, as well as valuable networking opportunities for attendees.
