Highlights

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of the National Ombudsman works for small businesses to assist them with federal regulatory issues. If you manage a small business, it is important for you to be aware of this office and understand how it can support and help small business.
The Office of the National Ombudsman is an independent voice for small businesses that feel they are being negatively affected by federal regulations, excessive audits, and unfair penalties and fines. Officers analyze small businesses’ concerns to detect recurring issues and trends that create barriers to small business growth. The office can help resolve regulatory disputes with federal agencies; reduce unfair penalties and fines; seek remedies when rules are inconsistently applied; and even recover payment for services performed by government contractors.
