Disability Inclusion in the Workplace

Overview

Highlights

One in five people in the U.S. have a disability, so there’s a strong likelihood that individuals working in your company have disabilities or have ties to someone with disabilities. It is important to socialize a corporate culture that is inclusive of people with disabilities as a good business practice—in part because people with disabilities compose a minority group that crosses race, religion, and sexual orientation, and that anyone can become a member of with no warning.

Removing stigmas and barriers associated with this minority group enhances employee relations, increases productivity and creativity, and helps companies develop a positive reputation with customers. Studies have even shown a strong correlation between inclusivity and return on investment.

During this webinar, attendees will learn

  • How to successfully include employees with disabilities in the workplace
  • Accepted practices for interacting with individuals with disabilities—whether they are current employees, job candidates, or clients
  • How to signal your organization’s commitment to individuals with disabilities as a valued segment of the workforce, which may encourage employees to feel comfortable disclosing their disabilities
  • Why teaching staff to be able to address disability issues will increase your company’s ability to effectively recruit, hire, and retain individuals with disabilities
